Bio: Matthew Monteith was born in Howell, Michigan in 1974. He studied at the International Center of Photography before earning an MFA from the Yale School of Art. He was a Fulbright Scholar in the Czech Republic from 2001-2002 and the resulting images, entitled Cesky Raj, have been exhibited in solo shows at Galerie 779 in Paris, France and the Prinz Gallery in Kyoto, Japan. His work has been in solo exhibitions in Arles and Cherbourg, as well as group exhibitions in New York City, Miami, and Rennes. Matthew was the recipient of the PDN Photo Annual Award in 2008 in the Photo Books category, and the Abigail Cohen Rome Prize at the American Academy of Rome.
